The 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series was the 62nd season of the Sprint Cup Series. The season began with the Speedweeks festival in February at Daytona International Speedway and ended with the Chase for the Sprint Cup at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November. The season schedule also featured a 33-race schedule. This is the first time since the 1996 and 1997 seasons that there has been 33 races. The new rule was put in place so that no team is forced to carry a driver who fails to make the Chase, and so that as many races as possible can be run on one weekend.
